OK, we’re rocking now. Jimmy Fallon has me cracking up with his auto-tune song. Earlier, I loved seeing anchorman Brian Williams recite the names of the “SNL” writers (“Or as they’re collectively known — nerds.”) And Ricky Gervais? Well, he’s always funny.
Gervais calls the Emmys “the greatest awards ceremony in the world,” mainly because it doesn’t present him with the self-esteem issues that the Oscars do. That show, he explains, is full of glamorous, attractive movie stars. “In this room, I’m probably above average,” he says. “Steve Carell is considered handsome.”
Then he goes on to make a crack about the syndication riches he’ll be making on “The Office.” “That joke,” he claims, “is for the 5,000 people in his room — not the 5,000 people watching at home.”
